TTTT Ask a Forester TTTT

Greetings and Welcome from the
Global Association of Online Foresters (G.A.O.F.)

Forestry delivers a renewable source of materials for industry, can provide food and shelter and stores solar energy for later use. Well managed forests can also provide a wide range of other benefits including recreation, amenity and environmental enhancement. To achieve this balance requires highly skilled professionals.

The Internet provides an effective way of finding and sharing information (data and knowledge) about forestry. The GAOF web site provides a range of forest information but also the various mailing lists available to the members are a source of shared forest knowledge.

As a profession forestry employs many people with a wide range of skills but there are many others amongst our members are genuine 'Forest People'. Whether you have a specific enquiry of a technical nature or are just generally interested in forestry, 'Ask a Forester' will try to answer your question or put you in contact with your local forester.

'Ask a Forester' is a free service provided by the Global Association of Online Foresters. The aim of the GAOF is to help you to make friends with other 'Forest People' from all corners of the world and to promote all aspects of forestry.
